DAHQ Brings Healthcare Quality Professionals Together for Learning and Collaboration

DAHQ was thrilled to host another successful educational networking and workshop event on February 26th at McGlynn’s Pub and Restaurant in Dover. The evening brought together healthcare quality professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and organizations, creating an energizing space to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.

The workshop was led by Donna Mahoney, Administrative Director of Clinical Analytics at ChristianaCare, who guided attendees through an insightful and practical discussion on the role of data in driving quality improvement. Her presentation focused on how to move beyond simply collecting data to using it effectively to support informed decision-making and meaningful change.

Key takeaways from the session included best practices for displaying data so it can be clearly interpreted, common pitfalls to avoid when presenting and analyzing data, and the importance of collaboration across teams. Donna emphasized how partnering with different stakeholders ensures that the data being collected and shared truly supports positive outcomes and organizational goals.

Adding a fun and interactive element to the evening, DAHQ members participated in a hands-on activity using M&M’s to demonstrate real-world lessons in data interpretation. The exercise highlighted how the same data can tell different stories depending on how it is grouped, analyzed, and presented—reinforcing the importance of thoughtful and intentional data visualization.

Participants also had the opportunity to earn 1.0 CPHQ Continuing Education Credit, making the event both educational and professionally rewarding.

DAHQ extends its sincere thanks to all who attended and contributed to the lively discussion. Events like these continue to strengthen our community of healthcare quality professionals and support our shared commitment to excellence in care.
